Let's take this journey together,

telling your story and preserving

family history, memories, and photographs.

Sharing your or a loved one's life story and preserving family history and lore creates an invaluable legacy for future generations.

My goal, mission, and passion are to perpetuate and preserve the lives we’ve lived.

People often tell me they wish they had known more about their parents’ or grandparents’ lives, and now it is too late. They have a gnawing regret about not learning more when they had the opportunity to do so. Countless important questions about our loved ones go forever unasked.

My name is Alan Bergman, and I share this regret. That was largely the impetus for my founding Life Stories Preserved LLC.

We all have an interesting story within us. Whether creating a life story-biography or a memoir, I make your story come alive, transforming it into a compelling read. Together, we’ll paint a picture of your life, including the victories and defeats that made you into who you are today.

These books typically are not sold but instead shared gratis with family members, friends, clients and colleagues, as well as passed forward to future generations.

Built to Survive (162 pages)
"By a stroke of luck, I was connected to you and Life Stories Preserved. You did an incredible amount of research to piece together my father's Holocaust survival story and fill in the gaps. You spent so much time interviewing my parents, family members, and business associates to carry my father's story forward into the present time. It is wonderful to have this history, now written in a book, for him and every member of our family. You were organized and very easy to work with. The finished product is beautiful and we will all cherish it." - Lisa Kaplan

Life Story-Biography

From humorous anecdotes to significant accomplishments, the life story-biography captures the elements of one’s life. Written either chronologically from birth and childhood on, or starting with a life-changing event and continuing backward and forward from that focal point, the biography describes a personal journey. It includes family history and lore, and there are often photographs and sometimes documents to complement the copy. A life story-biography can be written post-mortem for an individual or couple, too.

Memoir or Life Synopsis

The memoir is typically classified as a subgenre of the life-story biography. More narrowly focused and usually shorter than a biography, the memoir concentrates on a specific event(s) or a period within the subject’s life. For example, a memoir may focus exclusively on one’s career as a litigation attorney or university professor or his or her’s unusual upbringing and childhood. The memoir can also be created post-mortem.

The life synopsis is just that … usually, a 20-page booklet summing up the backstory and highlights of one’s life to date.
